Overview

LSAC’s mission is to advance law and justice by promoting access, equity, and fairness in law school admission and supporting the learning journey from prelaw through practice. 

 

We are seeking a UI/UX Designer to guide the development of user-friendly digital experiences in support of product teams across the LSAC ecosystem. We’re looking for a talented individual to create design concepts, mockups, and prototypes to help create products that are both visually pleasing and user-friendly for everyone. This position requires a mix of design skills, user interface development expertise, and strong accessibility and usability knowledge.

 

Salary range: $96,000 - $100,000, depending on experience

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Employ a user-centric approach to create design concepts for the user experience within a website or digital product, ensuring interactions are intuitive and accessible.
  • Maintain consistent design principles and adherence to brand guidelines across products.
  • Produce high-quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual design mockups, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and interactive prototypes to visualize and iterate on design concepts.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product owners, and stakeholders during ideation, helping to achieve their product vision and meet marketing goals.
  • Implement responsive design principles to ensure optimal user experience across various devices and screen sizes (desktops, laptops, mobile devices and tablets.)
  • Design and develop UI elements such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets.
  • Incorporate universal design and accessibility standards and best practices to ensure that all interfaces are accessible to a broad range of users, including those with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with user interface developers and front-end teams during implementation and test to verify outcomes.
  • Contribute to and evolve design systems for various LSAC products, establishing a shared language and visual consistency and ensuring accessibility is built into all UI elements and documentation.
  • Analyze customer responses and website data to determine high traffic web pages and why some perform better than others.
  • Work closely with user researchers to conduct testing of completed applications and websites to incorporate user feedback into the design process.
  • Keep current with design trends, tools, and best practices.

  • The ideal candidate will have a mixture of the qualifications below:
    • Extensive digital product and web design experience.
    • Advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite of programs and prototyping software.
    • Experience in digital design for front-end development with a strong accessibility focus, ensuring that design elements comply with accessibility standards and are accessible to users with diverse needs.
    • Experience with design systems and component libraries.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

 

  • Associates degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years’ UI/UX design experience for digital products or services.
  • A strong portfolio of professional UI/UX design work for web and mobile platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG standards, ARIA implementation, and inclusive design principles.
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Figma, Visio, Design Systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and basic front-end languages (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.)
  • Experience creating interactive prototypes with Figma preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role does not have people management responsibilities.

Position Type

  • The LSAC standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. ET. While these are the standard office hours for LSAC, as an exempt employee, the employee will be expected to work the hours necessary to satisfactorily complete their assignments in a responsible and professional manner.

Work Environment

  • This job operates in a remote and professional office environment. Whether remote or in-office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Travel Requirements

  • There may be times this position will require travel to lead design sessions with users or participate in user research activities.
