Overview

LSAC is a not-for profit organization whose mission is to advance law and justice by supporting the learning journey from prelaw through practice.

 

Pay rate: $95,000 to $105,000, depending on experience

 

The Manager of Financial Aid Education is responsible for representing LSAC as a Financial Aid expert.  S/he will play a key role in helping grow and strengthen LSAC’s brand to law schools, candidates, undergraduate prelaw advisors and prelaw associations, as well as other industry associations and their leaders.  The Manager of Financial Aid Education reports directly to the VP of Law School Engagement but works across the organization to support all areas requiring financial aid expertise, including, but not limited to: Law School Engagement (LSE), Legal Education Consulting (LEC), Prelaw Engagement, LawHub, Unite, Access & Opportunity and Marketing/Communications. S/he will function as the lead subject matter expert (SME) on financial aid for LSAC.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Stay current on federal financial aid and other financial aid trends
  • Support LSE, LEC, Prelaw, LawHub, Unite, Access & Opportunity and Marketing in building and delivering financial aid content.
  • Educate – through presentations and other means law school professionals, prelaw professionals and prelaw students on financial aid topics.
  • Assist LEC on consulting projects requiring financial aid expertise.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the legal education financial aid community.
  • Create and build business relationships to influence and deepen existing relationships.
  • Travels to represent LSAC at law schools, Forums, tradeshows and conferences.
  • Collaborates across LSAC as a subject matter expert (SME) to develop content and collateral.
  • Proactively collaborate with schools to understand and anticipate their knowledge, training and solutions needs.
  • Deliver exemplary customer experience at all customer touchpoints and educate and train the rest of the LSE team on financial aid matters.

  • Effective communication skills such as but not limited to participation in frequent oral discussions and preparation of written communications, such as letters, memos, newsletters and email messages both inside and outside the company.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial aid management – preferably in a law school

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Position Type

The LSAC standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. ET. While these are the standard office hours for LSAC, as an exempt employee, the employee will be expected to work the hours necessary to satisfactorily complete their assignments in a responsible and professional manner.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a remote environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Travel Requirements

This position requires up to 50% travel.
